A new material enterprise and research institute officially applied the Vacuum Arc Remelting Furnace (VAR) for remelting and refining titanium, zirconium, niobium, tantalum and high-temperature alloys. The equipment uses DC arc heating up to 3000℃ and works under high vacuum, effectively removing hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and inclusions.

In actual use, customers rely on the water-cooled copper crucible to achieve real crucible-free melting, avoiding carbon and oxygen pollution from traditional refractory materials. The vacuum degree reaches ≤5×10⁻³ Pa, realizing deep degassing and high cleanliness. Users can choose consumable or non-consumable electrode mode, support multiple remelting to further improve composition uniformity and density.

The PLC intelligent control system automatically adjusts current, voltage and electrode lifting, with stable process and complete data recording. Multiple safety interlocks ensure long-term reliable operation.

Customers have successfully produced high-performance titanium alloy ingots for aerospace, medical ultra-low impurity titanium materials, nuclear industrial zirconium alloy blanks and niobiumtitanium superconducting alloy raw materials. The products feature high purity, uniform structure, low gas content and excellent mechanical properties, which greatly improve product qualification rate and R&D efficiency.
